About UrsaTV

Gaming + Art + Stem

The Vision

UrsaTV is a Canadian creative media company based in Ottawa, Canada.

Bruno “BrewKnow” Perron founded UrsaTV in 2023, motivated to foster creative networks at the intersection of gamingart and STEM… a collection of interests in need of a “Third Place”.

UrsaTV aims to create in-person events for online communities seeking a personalized experience, and opportunities for meaningful connection.

Evolution

The Mission

Ottawa is striving to enhance its entertainment options and amenities to meet the standards of a global capital, as well as cater to its growing technology industry workforce.

eSports is primed for a glow-up akin to the evolution of music festivals over the last 2 decades, morphing from the chaotic vibes of a Woodstock '99 to the epic fan-fueled extravaganza that is Coachella, and local favourite Osheaga!

UrsaTV is driven by these opportunities.

Tech Hub

Ottawa

"Ottawa is a global tech hub with 1,800+ tech companies, 88,000+ tech workers. We have ample opportunities to join and collaborate with top-tier tech companies.

Explore Ottawa’s world-class tech ecosystem, home to global tech giants and fast-growing startups, in a city known for its exceptional quality of life, diversity, and opportunity."

Value Proposition

UrsaDen or UrsaStation?

Imagine an eSports haven in Ottawa, where professional gamers and content creators converge like a league of distinguished heroes seeking their clandestine refuge, and where locals gather like it’s a speakeasy for the AI era.

An eSports venue, fueled by food and beverage sales along with a modest sponsorship program, has the potential to create enough economic activity to support an annual eSports calendar, becoming a valued amenity for locals and tourists alike.

Lead Dreamer

Bruno Perron, Entrepreneur

I grew up travelling around Canada, growing up with parents in the Air Force. Gaming helped me connect with others, and stay connected when we moved (a lot).

Blizzard RTS and Sid Meir’s Civ games gave me my first taste of strategy. A legacy I pursued professionally serving 12 years as a Canadian Army Intelligence Officer, including a tour at ISAF HQ in Afghanistan, and a foreign exchange with US Cyber Command HQ.

I retired looking for a different vibe and a second career, honing my skills as a technology consultant – when “the algorithm” provided inspiration via a Harstem video. It made me re-discover a forgotten passion from my youth. One that grew quickly and motivated four trips to TakeTV‘s legendary HomeStory Cup. A game, community, business and venue that now serves as inspiration.

I always admired my friends who challenged themselves with entrepreneurship, especially in the hospitality and entertainment industries. I finally found something that is making me equally brave.

After 38 years as a nomad, I’m excited to engage in community building – Ottawa my chosen home is ideally suited for this concept. Let’s go.
