UrsaTV aims to create in-person events for online communities seeking a personalized experience, and opportunities for meaningful connection.

New media tools developed for eSports and content creators have inspired a myriad of micro communities around common games or creative pursuits. And countless individuals are carving out a network, an income, a life from these tools.
Ottawa is a city with an ambition to modernize its entertainment options and amenities to meet the expectations of its growing technology industry workforce.
UrsaTV is inspired by this challenge.
An Ottawa-based eSports venue could serve multiple regional pro-gamer & content creator communities, needing an offline hub in the Eastern time zone, generating enough economic activity to sustain a local creative ecosystem.

I grew up travelling around Canada, growing up with parents in the Air Force. Gaming helped me connect with others, and stay connected when we moved.
Blizzard RTS and Sid Meir’s Civ games gave me my first taste of strategy. A legacy I pursued professionally serving 12 years as a Canadian Army Intelligence Officer, including a tour at ISAF HQ in Afghanistan.
I retired looking for a different vibe and a second career, honing my skills as a technology consultant – when “the algorithm” provided inspiration via a Harstem video. It made me re-discover a forgotten passion from my youth. One that grew quickly and motivated two trips to TakeTV‘s legendary HomeStory Cup (XXII & XXIII). A community, a venue and company that now serves as inspiration.
I always admired my friends who challenged themselves with entrepreneurship, especially in the hospitality and entertainment industries. I finally found something that is making me equally brave.
After 38 years as a nomad, I’m excited to engage in community building – Ottawa my chosen home is ideally suited for this concept. Let’s go.
